    Fees where you sell

Selling on a marketplace, an app or a site that takes a cut? Type its fees here: the percentage it takes from each sale, and any fixed amount per item. You’ll find them on its fee page or in your seller account. Selling direct with no fees? Leave both at 0.

    %

The share of the price it keeps. Add them up if there are several (for example a sale fee and a payment fee).

    Pricing tips

The cost of a 3D print is more than just the filament; it includes the electricity used during long print hours and the time spent on post-processing. Failing to account for machine wear and failed prints can lead to hidden losses.

    Questions

How do I calculate the cost of electricity?

You can estimate your printer's monthly power consumption and add it to your fixed costs. This spreads the utility bill across all your printed products.

Should I charge for failed prints?

It is wise to slightly increase your profit margin or material cost to cover the occasional failed print. This ensures your business remains sustainable over time.

How do I price custom design work?

If you design the model yourself, add those design hours to the time section. Your expertise in CAD is a valuable part of the final product price.

How Tagzinho works out your price

Each ingredient costs the share of its pack you use: 500 g of a 2.27 kg bag at $4.29 is $0.94.

Your time and a share of your monthly fixed costs are added to every unit.

The price is solved so that after the marketplace takes its percentage and fixed fee, you still keep your profit margin. Most calculators add the fee last and you end up short.
