Fees where you sell
Selling on a marketplace, an app or a site that takes a cut? Type its fees here: the percentage it takes from each sale, and any fixed amount per item. You’ll find them on its fee page or in your seller account. Selling direct with no fees? Leave both at 0.
The share of the price it keeps. Add them up if there are several (for example a sale fee and a payment fee).
A set amount charged on every item sold. Leave 0 if there isn’t one.
Your profit
Share of the price you keep after every cost and fee.

Pricing tips
Marketplace fees can be confusing and often take a larger bite out of your revenue than expected. To price correctly, you must calculate your profit starting from the final price and working backward through the fees.
- Type the fees your shop actually pays: the percentages and fixed amounts are on Etsy’s fee page and in your shop’s payment account. Add the percentages together.
- Put packaging, labels and thank-you notes in your materials, so the fee is worked out on a price that covers them.
- Use our calculator to see how much you actually keep after both platform and payment fees.
Questions
Why is my profit lower than I calculated?
Fees are taken from the selling price, so they grow when the price grows. The calculator works backward from the fees to a price that still leaves your profit.
How do payment processing fees work?
These are fees charged to handle the credit card or bank transaction. They usually consist of a small percentage plus a fixed amount per order.
Where do I get the fee numbers to type in?
From Etsy’s own fee page and your shop’s monthly bill. Fees change and depend on your country, so Tagzinho doesn’t fill them in for you: type what your shop pays, and the price is worked out with those fees inside.

How Tagzinho works out your price
Each ingredient costs the share of its pack you use: 500 g of a 2.27 kg bag at $4.29 is $0.94.
Your time and a share of your monthly fixed costs are added to every unit.
The price is solved so that after the marketplace takes its percentage and fixed fee, you still keep your profit margin. Most calculators add the fee last and you end up short.
