    Pricing tips

Pricing candles is complex because of the precise ratios of fragrance oils to wax. Small changes in material costs or curing time can quickly impact your profit margins if not tracked carefully.

    Questions

Should I include the cost of shipping materials?

Yes, if you provide packaging like bubble wrap or boxes, these should be listed as material costs for that product. This ensures your margins remain accurate.

How do I handle fragrance oil blends?

Add each oil in the blend as its own line, with the milliliters one candle uses. The calculator adds them up with the wax, wick and jar.

How do fixed costs apply to candle making?

Fixed costs include items like workshop rent or website subscriptions. The calculator splits these monthly totals across the number of candles you expect to sell.

How Tagzinho works out your price

Each ingredient costs the share of its pack you use: 500 g of a 2.27 kg bag at $4.29 is $0.94.

Your time and a share of your monthly fixed costs are added to every unit.

The price is solved so that after the marketplace takes its percentage and fixed fee, you still keep your profit margin. Most calculators add the fee last and you end up short.
